DOCK LEVELERS

There are three main types of loading dock levelers typically used today:

  1. Mechanical Dock Levelers
  2. Hydraulic Dock Levelers
  3. Air-powered Dock Levelers

Each type has its own advantages and disadvantages depending on the size and weight of the items being loaded and unloaded.

When deciding which dock leveler to purchase, you should consider factors like the size and weight of the items to be loaded, the space available for the loading dock, and the budget. Additionally, you should consider the loading and unloading requirements, the desired level of safety, and the longevity of the loading dock. Ultimately, the type of dock leveler you select should best meet the needs of the particular loading dock.

MECHANICAL DOCK LEVELERS

A mechanical dock leveler is typically a cost-effective, easy-to-install minimal maintenance alternative to more expensive dock levelers options. It relies on a counterbalancing mechanism of springs and chains to facilitate a smooth transition between the dock and the delivery vehicle.

HYDRAULIC DOCK LEVELERS

A hydraulic dock leveler is typically a more expensive option than mechanical dock levelers, but It’s activated by a push-botton, durable and a powerful option. It’s powered by hydraulics and utilizes a counterbalancing mechanism of weights and levers to provide a safe transition between the dock and the delivery vehicle.

AIR-POWERED DOCK LEVELERS

Air-powered dock leveler are operated by compressed air, It’s activated by a push-botton, durable and a powerful. They require no electrical wiring, making them a more cost-effective option than hydraulic dock levelers.
